They
took the place by storm last time. I had more complimentary e-mails about this
band than any other! ROXY
MAGIC are a band of experienced musicians who combine to reproduce the diverse
music and imagery of the hugely influential ROXY MUSIC and pop icon BRYAN FERRY.
All the hits are performed with skill and enthusiasm in an exciting tribute to
the highly regarded ROXY MUSIC with Kevin Hackett performing lead vocals in the
unique style and look that is BRYAN FERRY, Kevin is a huge BRYAN FERRY fan and
knows the man’s style better than most as he’s seen him perform live
many times. He is so immersed in the vocal style of FERRY that he sounds like
him even when singing songs by other artistes! Kevin’s image and vocal delivery
is so stunningly like BRYAN FERRY that you have to remind yourself that he isn’t
the genuine article. ROXY
MAGIC perform
their set of best remembered ROXY MUSIC hits totally live, their show is a celebration
of the sounds of ROXY MUSIC and BRYAN FERRY. Because of the unique range of ROXY
MUSIC and BRYAN FERRY's music, from art rock to disco; 30's ballads to rock &
roll and ultimately to the smooth sophistication of 'Avalon', the set has
a great deal to offer to an appreciative audience, ROXY classics performed
include ‘Virginia Plain’, ‘Avalon’, ‘Dance Away’,
‘Street Life’, ‘Love is the Drug’, ‘Let’s
Stick Together’ along with a host of massive hits and proven live favourites
like ‘Re-Make/Re-Model’, ‘Ladytron’ and ‘Both Ends
Burning’. See and hear for yourself – you’ll be truly dazzled
and amazed! ........................................................................ SUN

I was talking to Harry recently and neither of us can remember where we
played in Liverpool last. I remember the Peter Green opening at the Irish
Centre, then a Theatre we’ve forgotten the name of, then we played in the
Hanover Hotel....actually, looking at it like that it seems like we’ve gradually
gone downhill instead of up!! This gig will hopefully rectify that,
we’re both looking forward to getting back there again and seeing some of
the old Producers fans. ........................................................................ FRI

used to run the Hanover and really gave us our first break in Liverpool although
I think we probably drank his pub dry in return! The Box is a new venue

One
of the very best blues vocalists and slide guitarists this country has produced.
Dave is well known for his 20+ years with The Blues Band but from the beginning
he’s played with some of the greatest blues artists in the world –
including Howling Wolf, John Lee Hooker, Son House & Buddy Guy. He’s
had his own Dave Kelly Band on and off for over 20 years, as well as performing
solo and touring an acoustic blues duo show with Paul Jones – this man simply
lives and loves the blues! Dave has written and performed music for various films,
tv series and ads including the Montreux Rose winning Strike starring Robbie Coltrane
and the BBC four part drama series, King of the Ghetto, starring Tim Roth. He
is an honorary patron of The London Guitar College along with Hank Marvin. Dave
was voted Best Acoustic Artist in the B B C polls 1991, 1994, 1996, 1997 and 1998.
If there is such a thing as a British 'blues pedigree', then Dave Kelly's sets
the standard. Kelly is a blues craftsman - a journeyman who has served his time
with the best. In
New York he jammed with Muddy Waters. He became a friend to Howlin' Wolf and John
Lee Hooker, who both felt the benefit of Dave's playing in their touring bands.
It was Dave's big sister, the late Jo-Ann Kelly, who first opened his ears to
the blues, although his passion for rock and roll - and especially the work of
Buddy Holly - remains intact. In 1967 he joined The John Dummer Blues Band. After
three albums and a solo project he continued to polish his style and technique
throughout an adventurous career with some of Britain's finest players. When The
Blues Band was formed in 1979, the post of slide guitarist and joint vocalist
was a foregone conclusion, Dave Kelly's guitar and vocals form the very backbone
of The Blues Band's distinctive sound. Today,
after 21 years 'treading the boards' with the band, with his solo albums, duo
tours with Paul Jones, and soundtrack work (for commercials and such projects
as BBC TV's 'King of the Ghetto' and the Comic Strip's 'Strike!') Dave Kelly is
firmly estabished as Europe's premier blues performer. ........................................................................ TUES

Jazzy-Blues bill for Lulworth! Both main acts are well known and popular on the
local blues circuit, the 6 piece ‘Baddest blues band - ever’ being
formed by Rob Koral and Zoe Schwarz are an earthy, modern blues band in which
the funkiest musicians from the parallel worlds of blues, jazz and rock return
to their roots. Sultry and charismatic vocalist Zoë Schwarz is propelled
by ace jazz and blues guitarist Rob Koral and blistering blues harp man Si Genaro.
The achingly groovy all-star rhythm section features happening Hammond organist
Mike Gorman, jet-setting jazz double bassist Malcolm Creese and dynamite drummer
Dave Wallace. This band is guaranteed to get you rocking! Harry
Skinner and Dave Saunders have played just about every Blues and Jazz festival
there is in the UK and Ireland, Europe, Australia and New Zealand both as ex members
and founders of the award winning blues band The Producers and in their own right.
They have also played at the Atlanta Blues Festival in the US and opened concerts
for such musical giants as Fleetwood Macs Peter Green, Taj Mahal, Albert Lee,
Procol Harum, Jeff Healy and the Ray Charles Orchestra. An opportunity to experience
musical quality of this standard on the same bill happens very rarely, as such,
this show looks like a promising funky blues night out! Bring
your picnic chairs, wrap up warm and listen to some fabulous grooves!

"Bill
Sheffield takes the stage unpretentiously, cradling a vintage Gibson Acoustic
or his trusted Martin OM. At first he appears almost shy, his eyes scanning the
room, making connections. He slowly starts into his own rendition of an old blues
classic, maybe Robert Johnson, Muddy Waters or Blind Blake. Before long Bill takes
control of the stage, captivating the audience. Combining a finger picking style
that rolls over you like a freight train with his electrifying and dazzling guitar
work. There is no denying it, Bill Sheffield is a master of the Blues and a true
master of the guitar. He exudes the personality of the songs he sings playing
every song from the heart. The minute you hear him you know.........."
Although the foundation for Bill Sheffield’s music is the Blues, the live
concert contains elements of many other genres’; folk, country and gospel.
Classifying it as Blues may be too limiting. “Americana” may be the
better description. Honest, gutsy, and passionate, an evening orchestrated by
Bill Sheffield promises to be an unforgettable musical experience.

Determined
to make something of his music career, five years ago Derrin Nauendorf arrived
at Heathrow airport from Australia with a guitar, £1200 and several extra
layers of clothing to acclimatise to the drop in temperature. From this, Derrin
spent those next five years playing anywhere that would have him, sleeping on
floors and living on tuna baguettes. Things looked up a few years ago when he
purchased an old Post Office van, which then became his home for the next six
months, more importantly, it allowed him to get gigs, and essentially his music,
out into the real depths of the UK.
Literally over 1000 gigs later
(a lot of them listed on his website), Derrin finds himself with fans not only
in England, but Scotland, Holland, Denmark, Sweden, Germany, France and his native
Australia too. He has since managed to sell over 12,000 albums from the back of
that van, and become a bit of a hit on the festival circuit too. He's supported
Van Morrison and played to dignitaries and politicians in grand Parisian castles
right down to WW2 bunkers in Germany and two-men-and-a-dog type shows in Denmark
- all without the help/ hindrance of a record label, manager, agent or press officer.
Derrin is a determined sort and this independence has meant that he can turn up
anywhere and get a show out of it. He's now played practically anywhere and everywhere,
building up a small barmy army of supporters who'll follow him for several dates
at a time. Derrin's new album, The Rattling Wheel, is actually his fifth
release following such titles as 2005's New History and 2003's Wasteland, The
Rattling Wheel is a personal leap forward. Alongside tell-tale nods to his main
influences of Bob Dylan, Tom Waits, Martin Stevenson and Richard Thompson, there's
hints of John Martyn and traditional British folk, blended in with his own rootsier,
bluesier, and altogether gutsier sound.
From selling the music out of
the Post Office van to now having his songs on iTunes; it's obvious things can
only get hotter. An intense and raw performer, Derrin works best in the live setting
- it is, after all, how he got his reputation - and why we're here now, at the
cusp of the bigger, better things for a man who's more than paid his dues and
kept the receipts. The only way now is up.

Stompin'
Dave's Electric Blues Band, a brand new project from Stompin' Dave Allen. Known
mainly for his eccentric banjo, acoustic guitar & fiddle playing whilst simultaneously
singing & tap dancing, Stompin' Dave's excellent electric guitar playing,
band leading, & song writing is highlighted in this new band. Dave has previously
fronted his own blues bands Dablues, & Dr. Stomp & The G.P.'s. Back in
2000 Dave gained valuable experience as a sideman with Bournemouth based band
The Producers. Dave's latest blues project Stompin' Dave's Electric Band began
in the autumn of 2007. The band has completed it's first album Original Blues
which is due for release early 2008. Accompanying Dave on the new disc are the
vastly experienced Graham V. Bundy, & Dave Saunders. Graham V. Bundy worked
as a professional drummer in the U.S.A. for 20 years. Graham performed with rockabilly
luminaries such as Dale Hawkins(author of swamp-rock classic Susie Q.), Billy
Lee Riley & Jody Evans. Graham has recorded at the legendary Sun
Studios in Memphis. Dave Saunders is on bass, a founder member of award winning
blues band The Producers and half of acoustic duo Harry Skinner & Dave Saunders.
Dave also promotes through his Mojo Records Agency, and performs with Atlanta
USA blues/americana recording artist Bill Sheffield. ........................................................................ FRI

themselves as world class musicians. Well, this is Stipe

Hailed by aficionados and music press around the world as Europe’s foremost
blues harmonica exponent, Paul Lamb has
forged himself a place in the history books as one of the greatest players of
our time. He has won countless awards, sold record-breaking quantities of albums,
and performed the world over with his long-standing musical compatriots, The Kingsnakes.
Inducted into the British Blues Awards Hall Of Fame (alongside the likes of Peter
Green, John Mayall & Alexis Korner), Lamb still continues to bring his infectious
brand of soulful blues to a plethora of fans around the globe… he has represented
Great Britain in the World Harmonica Championships, leading to a spell of working
with his mentor Sonny Terry and seeing Lamb performing with Buddy Guy, Junior
Wells, Brownie McGhee, and countless other blues greats that had originally inspired
him. To date, the band can regularly be seen far afield; from Spain to Scandinavia,
Belgium to Bahrain, Hungary to Hong-Kong…His unique harmonica skills are
constantly in demand by others, and he has amongst other experiences had a chart
hit with “Harmonica Man”(under the pseudonym of “Bravado”)
with Pete Waterman, and worked with Mark Knopfler, The Who, Rod Stewart and Jimmy
Nail amongst others. The band also features newest member Ryan
Lamb on guitar , a great player in the Jimmy Vaughan style and by co-incidence
Pauls son! Vocalist / guitarist Chad Strentz
is rated as one of the top UK singers and has won awards in his own right.
Genial Doghouse Bass player Rod
Demick toured the US for about 6 months supporting Dire Straits then started
working with The David Essex Band, and from 1979 - 1990 was touring, recording
albums and singles with David. Also, he was playing blues gigs around London and
recording with The Strawbs. Eventually, in 1990, a tour of America with the Strawbs
clashed with an Essex tour, and Rod went to America! By now all he really wanted
to do was play the blues again, so on his return, he started a blues band with
some of the Strawbs. As Turkey Leg Johnson they played the blues circuit around
the UK. Turkey Leg didn't exactly turn out as he had planned, so he joined the
Jim McCarty Band, recording a Yardbirds Reunion Concert CD. Prior to joining Paul
Lamb Rod also worked with Dr. John, Guitar Shorty, Mojo Buford, Ron Kavana, Jack
E McAuley, Terry Woods, Taj Mahal, Snooky Prior, and Gatemouth Brown. Rock
steady drummer Sonny Below played behind
Johnny Mars as well as backing Louisiana Red and the Excello tour with Fred James,
Johnny Jones etc before becoming a Kingsnake. What
the press have to say about PAUL LAMB & THE KING SNAKES: "... simply
better than the opposition - from whatever side of the Atlantic it happens to
come". - Blueprint. "Paul
Lamb & The King Snakes are a bloody marvellous band". - Blues in the South. "They
play blues in the same way Brando used to straddle a Triumph…. lazily,
cocksure, coolly and aggressive” - Blues & Rhythm. ........................................................................ THURS

A consistantly popular and professional act Stipes audiences
grow with every appearance, and rightly so - a fantastic night of classic REM.
One of the biggest bands to emerge from the 70’s, REM, with their charismatic
singer Michael Stipe ( complete with blue stripe across his face!) proceeded
to tear the singles and album charts up with those famous hit melodies and establish
themselves as world class musicians. Well, this is Stipe
and REM is what they do -very well! They are the UKs foremost REM tributes playing
2 hours of all the classics. You’ll find yourself singing along to songs
you didn’t realise you knew - ‘Man on the Moon’, Losing my Religion’,
‘Everybody Hurts’ and many, many more. A superb stage show not to
be missed by any serious REM fan. Some reviews from Stipes gig at The
Limelight, Crewe.... ‘By the time the band started there must have been
at least 400 people there’ ‘A packed venue with high expectations
to hear the music of the world's greatest band - R.E.M., take it from me they
were not disappointed.’ ‘Stipe's outstanding performance of R.E.M.
music is second to none, not to be missed, 'if you love R.E.M. then Stipe is never
going to let you forget it'. ................................................................................. THURS

Linda Gail Lewis first started making waves in Britain when - following
the launch of her highly controversial and much discussed autobiography "The Devil,
Me And Jerry Lee" and the release of her self-titled album on Sire - she toured
the U.K. and Ireland in the perfect rocking company of Shakin' Stevens. Along
the way she made several television appearances and, by the year's end, had struck
up an acquaintanceship with Van Morrison, leading on to the duet album "You Win
Again" several months touring together, and the outrageous autobiography that
knocks the socks off other "kiss and tell" diatribes. Now she's set to win even
more friends and fans with a brand new album that continues to fashion her own
identity as a singer, songwriter and musician. Appropriately titled "Out Of The
Shadows", it's another step away from the image garnished by her elder brother,
the notorious Jerry Lee Lewis. But Linda Gail Lewis, in common with her famous
brother, has never shied away from the headlines. It comes with the territory.
Just as noted Nashville journalist Robert K. Oermann had described her autobiography
as "breezy, bemused, irreverent and more than a little racy", so such words could
be similarly to the authoress herself. Linda Gail and
brother Jerry Lee grew up in Ferriday, Louisiana along with cousins Jimmy Swaggart
(controversial, but world-renowned evangelist) and Mickey Gilley (country singer/songwriter,
who gained a worldwide reputation via the movie "Urban Cowboy"). Most of their
colourful, but poverty stricken childhood was spent in their hometown church built
by members of the family. Their first musical experiences were right there at
"The Ferriday First Assembly of God" where Jerry and Linda sang, moving toward
what would be their life long career in music. "I've been in the music business
my whole life," says Linda. "I went into Sun recording studio, in Memphis, with
my brother for the first time when I was 12 years old and went out on the road
with him when I was 14." The impressionable Linda Gail idolized her brother and
he returned her love with big brotherly concern. "He protected me when we were
out on the road. He wouldn't even let anyone cuss in front of me." She continues:
"You know, having name recognition is a two sided-thing, It helps you get in the
door, but once you're in, you have to blow people's minds or else they will not
like you. If I was Jerry Lee's sister, I better be damn good." These days,
though, Linda Gail Lewis' music is making its own impact. The little sister has
now stepped out of the shadows of her big brother and enjoys the enthusiastic
support of a public that yearns for more - and the media always eager for a story
linked with the Lewis name. .................................................................................

real coup! At last we have managed to book them - one of our most requested acts.
This one is long overdue, book now as early sellout is predicted! Hear
Mick Jogger, Ronnie Woodbine, Keef Ripoff, Bill Wayeyman and Charlie Rocks recreate
some of the biggest hits of the last 40 years! THE
ROLLIN' CLONES were formed in 1997 to celebrate the music and career of the greatest
rock n' roll band of all time. Since then 'The Clones' have gone from strength
to strength, playing sellout concerts at home and abroad. They enjoy the reputation
of being The Best Tribute To The Rolling Stones ever.. "no others come close" THE
SHOWS place great emphasis on the Rolling Stones' actual LIVE performances thus
creating the most dynamic stage show, packed full of brilliantly played classics
from the early 60s, 70s and 80s, through to the new releases of today... THE
BAND MEMBERS, all outstanding musicians with numerous professional credits to
their name, recreate the songs with "frightening accuracy" and Mick Jogger "more
Mick than Mick" is sensational...... A
touch of humour and the band's fantastic stage presence make a ROLLIN' CLONES
gig an event to be remembered and most certainly "NOT TO BE MISSED" “Without
a doubt the most exciting tribute to the Rolling Stones...Outstanding”
The
Daily Mail “Frighteningly
accurate” Empire Magazine “The
Rollin' Clones manage to re-create the Stones at their most prolific and do it
with all the passion and raw energy of the real thing. Great fun, fine musicians
and an excellent choice of songs...not to be missed!”The Rolling Stones
Supporters Association “Hit
after hit were walloped out with a passion, a smirk
,and a wink that kept the dance floor moving all night...” The
BBC “A
storming set at Ashton Court “ The NME ........................................................................
