Sean Costello April 16, 1979 - April 15, 2008

I’ve just received word of the death of Blues guitarist Sean Costello. All reports that Sean died in an Atlanta hotel the night before his birthday. No further details are available at this time He was would have been 29 tomorrow. We recorded together on Bill Sheffields albums and shared many a story and beer jamming on Bills back porch. He was a brilliant young guitarist and singer of great talent, he will be missed.

Thanks to that amazing guitar/mandolin player and singer Pete Harris for turning up at our first Lazy Sunday afternoon jam session at The Albion in Wimborne, that turned it into something special! Next one’s May 11th.
...................................................................

Thanks also to the many folks that gave my first gig at Minehead such a good start! Pink Floyd tribute band Breathe transformed the ballroom and put on an amazing show. They are rebooked for September. Word will get round about this great new venue after the enthusiastic reception for Breathe. Don’t miss the next show there on 21st May featuring Jinder playing his Bob Dylan show, tickets available now from venue or see above.

It was wonderful for Harry and I to have the chance to be able to play 2 gigs for legendary Muddy Waters harp player Mojo Buford and his great drummer Doug McMinn. Mojo was a lovely feller, very smiley and both him and Doug were extremely complimentary to us. It was the first time in 6+ years (since the demise of The Producers) that we had played electric guitars together and gave us the oppportunity to dust off some stuff we hadn’t played in all that time.  ‘Be Careful’, ‘Crossroads’,‘You don’t Love me’, an electric version of ‘Walking Blues’ and a couple of others. There was certainly a few misty eyes when we played ‘Love, Food and Water’ once again, almost like the old times and great fun!
But we’re still not reforming, we’ve got no need to.

As Bass player, acoustic guitarist and founding member of Britains award winning blues band 'The Producers', Dave performed all over Britain, Ireland, Europe, Australia and New Zealand playing some of the biggest blues festivals around including acoustic slots at various festivals such as Burnley Blues Festival, a stunning set at the Templebar Music Centre during the Guiness/Templebar Blues Festival in Dublin and dates on the ex Fleetwood Mac guitarist Peter Greens comeback U.K tour.

As a duo alongside Producers Singer/ Guitarist Harry Skinner, they received riotous applause and rave reviews supporting American bluesman Eric Bibb as well as opening for TV's Jools Holland in front of 4000 fans at the Larmer Tree Festival and headlining the acoustic section of the North Wales Blues Festival. They have also played at the Atlanta Blues Festival in the US and opened concerts for such musical giants as Fleetwood Macs Peter Green, Taj Mahal, Albert Lee, Procol Harum, Jeff Healy and the Ray Charles Orchestra.

Dave also runs his Mojo Promotions company helping keep blues music active throughout the South West while still playing session and dep work most notably with US bluesman Bill Sheffield with whom Dave tours both here and the United States.
